

The SpongeBob Pirate Walk & Run 2025 set sail at Waterway Point on April 26, 2025, serving as Singapore's first-ever pirate-themed event featuring the beloved sea sponge. Integrated into the mall's "Dive Into Sustainability" campaign, the event successfully blended high-energy fitness with environmental advocacy through a series of "eco-friendly" adventure quests.
Participants chose between a 3KM Interactive Walk, designed for families with engaging pirate-themed checkpoints, and a 7KM Non-Competitive Run that took enthusiasts on a scenic journey through Punggol Waterway Park. The route was transformed with vibrant nautical decor and character-led storytelling, encouraging walkers and runners to "dress for the high seas" in a creative best-dressed contest.
Beyond the race, the activation drove significant mall engagement through a curated Eco-Market and marine roadshows. The event’s success was anchored by its exclusive merchandise, including limited-edition pirate tees, plush blind boxes, and unique finisher medals. Shoppers were further incentivized by in-mall redemptions for SpongeBob-themed travel pillows and carryalls, effectively bridging the gap between active participation and retail footfall.
